About Saodimallsu

Saodimallsu is a knitwear label: cardigans, pullovers, sweater vests, knit dresses and the crochet pieces that carry the range into summer. It sells online and nowhere else, and this site is where its catalogue is laid out in full.

The thing that makes the range unusual is repetition, and we mean that as praise. One good cardigan shape appears in ten or twelve colourways, from black through camel and apricot to a sage green, so the decision is rarely which style and almost always which shade.

That is the reason this site is built as an index rather than a lookbook. The index beside these pages carries every department, every colour family and every knit with a count against it, and each of those counts is the number of styles we can actually point you to today.

Knit is the second axis. A chunky knit holds its own shape and reads as outerwear indoors. A ribbed knit follows the body and packs flat. Cable sits between them and hides a spill. Crochet is an open stitch for July that lets both air and light through. Every page states which one it is, in the maker's own word.

Colour names come from the maker too, and we leave them alone. Apricot, camel, coffee, khaki, sage: these are the words on the label, and translating them into our own vocabulary would only add a layer of guessing between you and the yarn.

What we do not do is describe a shade as though a screen could settle it. The swatch beside each colour family is an approximation drawn to help the eye scan; the name under each garment is the maker's, and daylight is the only reliable judge of either.

Sizes run X-Small to XX-Large across most of the range, with a few pieces reaching 5X-Large and a small girls' line sized in years. Where a style exists in one size today, its page shows one row rather than a promise, and the size filter on every department page is built from what is actually buyable.

You buy every piece through our retail partner, and the buttons open the exact colour and size you chose here. Prices move with the season, so we refresh ours on a schedule and print the date of the last refresh on one page rather than promising a number we cannot hold.

The one thing we will not do is tell you a knit does something it does not. Crochet is not sun protection, a cardigan is not a coat, a ribbed dress is not lined, and an open stitch shows what is under it. Everything else on this site is here to get you to the right colour in the right size and out of the door.
